While it’s all business on the tennis court, Roger Federer showed his light-hearted side as he watched Maria Sharapova’s match against Lauren Davis on Friday.
Federer was watching the match alongside his upcoming opponent Grigor Dimitrov in the locker room, as they waited for the women to finish so they could take to Rod Laver Arena.
Sharapova had powered through the opening set 6-1, but Davis had pushed the second set to a tiebreak.
The 22-year-old was leading 5-4 in the tiebreak when she missed an easy volley and Federer could be seen losing his mind.
Davis eventually won the second set, prolonging Federer and Dimitrov’s wait, before Sharapova sealed her victory with a bagel third set.
Federer also went on to outclass Grigor Dimitrov 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
