After losing another toss and having to bowl first again, West Indies rocked Pakistan with two wickets in the first over, but had to work a lot harder for their subsequent breakthroughs. When bad light stopped play though, the visitors would have been quite happy with their work.

Four Pakistani batsmen made half-centuries and yet their team’s score at stumps in Sharjah was 255 for 8 thanks mainly to fast bowler Shannon Gabriel and legspinner Devendra Bishoo.

Pakistan had been 148 for 3 at tea, but they lost five wickets in the final session through a succession of loose shots. Bishoo picked up four of them, including Sami Aslam for 74 and Misbah-ul-Haq for 53.
